Control a teleprompter with a remote, clicker or foot pedal
A remote lets you start, pause and adjust the prompter without touching the computer. Almost anything works: a presentation clicker, a USB foot pedal, a game controller or a dedicated teleprompter remote.
Open the free prompterThree kinds of remotes
- Clickers, pedals and keyboard-style remotes send ordinary key presses such as Page Down or the arrow keys. They work immediately, with no setup, on any computer or tablet.
- Game controllers are detected as soon as you press a button. The stick scrolls smoothly: push a little to creep forward, push harder to move faster.
- Bluetooth teleprompter remotes, like the Feelworld remote, use their own Bluetooth channel. In Chrome or Edge, open Devices and click Connect Bluetooth remote once. The Zett Prompter app for Mac connects to them automatically.
Map any button
Open Devices, click an action such as Play / pause or Text bigger, then press the button you want for it. Holding a button repeats speed, size and line jumps. "Last input" shows what each button sends, which helps when a remote's labels don't match what it does.
Default layout for the Feelworld remote
| Button | Action |
|---|---|
| Top button | Play / pause |
| Stick up / down | Smooth scroll |
| Small left / right | Slower / faster |
| A / B | Text bigger / smaller |
| X | Back to start |
| Y | Full screen |
Phones and tablets
Browsers aren't allowed to list the Bluetooth devices already paired with a phone or computer, so a Bluetooth teleprompter remote has to be picked once in the browser. iPhone and iPad have no Web Bluetooth in any browser. There, use a clicker or a keyboard-style remote, which work right away.
Open the prompter, then Devices, to set up your remote.
Questions
Can I use a presentation clicker with a teleprompter?
Yes. Clickers send Page Up and Page Down, which Zett Prompter understands out of the box. You can remap them to play, pause or speed in Devices.
Does a foot pedal work with an online teleprompter?
Yes. USB and Bluetooth foot pedals act like a keyboard, so they work without setup. Assign each pedal in Devices.
